ENGAGING ENTREPRENEURS

Enterprise Island is best known for its innovative and successful Enterprise Island Challenges.

What is not generally known is that the programme actually comprises a set of specific activities and is based on our work with Scottish Enterprise on the Business Birthrate Inquiry.

Scottish Enterprise had undertaken research on why people did not start businesses via the MORI group.

This research identified a group called "UNMOTIVATED POTENTIALS", namely people who had the ability to start a business but were not engaged or motivated to do so. This amounted to a staggering 38% of the adult Scottish population.

Iain Scott led the research on this group and with his team developed a set of successful engagement mechanisms.

These mechanisms have been employed on a variety of projects, always with success. Typically our clients identify an area, group or sector that is not engaging and we turn that around.

Typically we achieve results of 70% plus engagement with new people. An average of 48%to 60% are women, the age range is from 16 to 68 and the bme sector is always above the average for the area.
